From the very beginning of its history Prague, "the mother of cities", has been the most important city of the Czech state. Its specific location in the very heart of Europe has made the city an important trade route crossing reflecting various cultures.

In 1992 the historical core of the city covering 866 hectares was listed in the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage Register.

Contemporary Prague is also a modern metropolis full of energy, art and music. There are many galleries, museums, concert halls, theatres and clubs offering various cultural opportunities with something certain to please everyone's taste.
